Hereeeeeeeeeeee’s August! Finishing out the hot, hot, HOT summer reads with this one and hoping for cooler climes in September. Eh, probably won’t happen but we will definitely find some in future reads. Get ready for Fall & Winter seasonal feels soon!
But back to that heat of August…
Main book: The Troop by Nick Cutter
Described as part Lord of the Flies and part 28 Days Later, this tale is about a boy scout troop facing a parasitic infection that creates violence and chaos all while trapped in the Canadian wilderness.
*Secondary book/novella: The Summer People by Shirley Jackson
When a couple goes against tradition and remain in their summer home past their usual departure time they come face-to-face with increasingly odd experiences.
*For those going the Rec Room route this novella isn’t available stand alone but it is included in the short story collection Dark Tales which they carry and can order.
Graphic Novel: The Keeper by Tananarive Due
A young Black girl finds herself trapped between desperation and her family’s dark history as she faces a generationally inherited spirit that feeds on the living.
Comic: Black Hole by Charles Burns (12 in series and will run June, July & Aug) Continuing the series at your own pace.

More other: feel free to bring some games you’d love for us try at some point, if that’s your thing. Cards, tabletop, etc.
Even more other: bring your retired books to help stock the Little Free Library and the browsing section at Hendershot’s.
