June, July & August = HOT. Like, temp hot. Swampy green or desert dry, it’s summer and it’s inescapable.

Kicking off the leg of the journey with our main book Annihilation. The first in Jeff VanderMeer’s Southern Reach Trilogy, and it was made into a mega movie a few years back, this book is about a mysterious, quarantined wilderness known as Area X that is slowly taking over.

Secondary book: Little Eyes by Samanta Schewiblin – short stories, but with one connecting theme: a creepy Furby-esque doll and how it affects folks all over the world.

Graphic Novel: A Guest in the House by Emily Carroll. A new marriage seems to be haunted by the dead wife. Literally and figuratively.

Comic: Black Hole by Charles Burns. Teenagers get the ‘bug’ and become monstrous things. There are 12 in the series and will run June, July & August.
