*spooky wave hello*

About The RIP (Read In Peace) Book Club

Whatever horror books you want to read – psychological tales, Gothic goodness, fantasy, slasher, cosmic and beyond – you can read it here.

RIP Book Club hopes to be an enjoyable haven for genre book lovers who want community without the pressure of a forced conversation or reading deadlines. Drop in late. Read 3 chapters or none at all. Just sit and sip. It’s all good. But we definitely want you to feel included so we will check in with you from time-to-time but don’t feel obligated to engage. We’re happy in leaving you be and but we don’t want to be leaving you out. Right? Right!

For books, we pick 3 a month. A main and two sides, if you will. The main is the big bite novel and then the others are novellas, comics and/or graphic novels. Trigger warnings may/can be included at times but use your own judgement. If you don’t like the main then skip to the others or pick your own to discuss with us! We also discuss games, podcasts, movies and more.

Rec Room Books downtown will have our reading list on file and can help you find what you’re looking for. #shoplocal

What do you mean by ‘pick your poison’?

If you want, you can read with others or alone in silence nearby, which allows you to dig deep into the monthly books selected or your own chosen spooky tale that you brought from home.

Want to chat away? Swap horror stories? Really unearth the meaning of the monthly book pick? There’s a spot for that as well.

And then what?

Once the hour & a half is up you can stay for drinks or events at the space, continue conversations there or elsewhere, keep reading in your comfy spot or simply pack up and leave without saying a word.

Thanks and RIP (Read In Peace)
